This Sunday

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental health affects all of us. Even if you don’t have a mental health condition, you more than likely know someone with a mental health condition. Statistics show that 1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year and 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year. (Mental Health By the Numbers | NAMI)

Why is it important to talk about it?
If we talk about mental health it helps to lessen the stigma of mental illnesses. This is important because those experiencing mental illness need to know: You Are Not Alone.

Throughout this month Midway will provide research-based facts, resources, and encouragement to help those caring for or living with mental illnesses.

Midway MISSION

Family Promise Volunteers Needed

Midway will host Family Promise on May 5-12. Help us show hospitality to families in our community who are working diligently to become independent and self-sufficient.

Maybe cook a meal? Shoot some hoops with kids in the gym? Read a book to a pre-schooler?

Much help is needed to ensure our guests' comfort and well-being. Prayerfully consider signing up to volunteer using the link below.

"Be the person who touches our Family Promise families lives and hearts. Be a positive light, as you put a smile on their faces. For in the end, it's not only what you say to them that matters, it's also how you make them feel, that lovingly stays in the memories."

Wellspring Living Workday

The workday for Wellspring Living will be Saturday, May 4th, at the Duluth campus. We will be doing light landscaping including trimming, picking up branches and pine cones, weeding, etc. Please be sure to bring a pair of work gloves. If you have any of the following items please consider bringing rakes, hedge trimmers, and blowers.

The team will serve from 9 AM to noon. If we get enough people, we will be done before noon. Plan to meet at the church at 8:15 am so we can depart as a team from there.

Wesley Woods Special Offering

Wesley Woods has a mission to provide communities of connection, well-being, and promise. They envision a world in which older adults are celebrated for the lives they have lived, the wisdom they share, and everything they have to teach us.

They help provide independent living, personal care, memory care, respite care, skilled nursing, affordable housing, and management.

Please consider making a special offering this Sunday to help benefit the mission and ministry of Wesley Woods. Please be sure to designate your offering either through offering plate giving, mail-in giving, or giving made online. Thank you for giving!
