Welcome to Midway!

Midway United Methodist Church is a place where people can experience Jesus through others, and be unafraid to ask and explore the hard questions.
We believe in authentic relationships - with each other and with Christ - where believers can do life together, learn and grow on their spiritual journeys, discover their God-given gifts, and use those gifts to help others.

FAQ

What kind of church are you?
Midway United Methodist Church is a community of believers who are part of the United Methodist Church. We strive to live out our faith in concrete ways, sharing the love of God by caring for one another and serving in our community and around the world. We value relevant, passionate preaching, inspiring worship, and small groups where people can grow in faith.

What should I expect in a service?
Expect to be warmly greeted and to feel right at home on your first visit, whether online or in person.  You’ll find the worship services are simple to follow, the teaching is impactful and relevant to your life, and there are no insider secrets. There are friendly people eager to help. Our goal is simply for you to feel welcomed and inspired. Each service varies in worship style and personality, with music styles ranging from traditional to contemporary.

A typical service lasts about 50 minutes.

At the traditional service (8:30), you'll hear hymns and share in the traditional United Methodist order of worship, which consists of the Lord's Prayer, and the Apostle's Creed (or another creed stating what we believe), with a scripture reading and sermon delivered by one of our clergy.

At the contemporary service (11:00), you'll hear contemporary Christian songs led by our worship team, with a scripture reading and message delivered by our clergy.

At each service, we share in Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. We host an open table, meaning all are welcome to participate in Holy Communion. Elements served are gluten and dairy-free. We also have individually sealed elements available.
Where do I park?
There are signs for guest parking located near the back of the chapel and the covered entrance to the main building.
When should I arrive?
Sunday morning worship services begin at 8:30 and 11 a.m.
You should plan to arrive at the church about 10 minutes ahead of the worship service you wish to attend. This allows ample time for parking, entering the building and finding a seat.
You may wish to arrive a few minutes earlier to check your children in.
Where do I go once I get there?
8:30 service is located in the historic chapel that faces Highway 9.
Enter up the steps facing the road, or use the ramp located behind the chapel.

11:00  Modern service is located in the sanctuary.
This entrance is under the drive-through portico facing Highway 9.

Restrooms are located in the main campus building.

Greeters are stationed near the entrance to each building, to welcome you and, once you enter, to help you find your way.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably when you come to worship. Some of our attendees wear their “Sunday best,” but most come in more comfortable clothes. Don’t worry about what you wear – you’ll be welcomed no matter how fancy or casual you are. Just come to worship God!
What should I bring?
You are not required to bring anything!  Our worship services are Bible-based. You may wish to bring your own Bible. Or download the Bible app to access the Scripture reading.
What's available for my children?
Children are welcome to participate in the worship service. We have “Wiggle Bags” and “Sermon Notes for Kids” available for children of any age (yes, sometimes the adults like to color or take notes!). If your child fills out a “Sermon Notes for Kids” they can turn it in for a prize from the treasure box after service.

We also provide childcare for children six weeks to first grade at all services.
Child drop off is on the first floor of our main building. Enter through the portico, and proceed to the children’s area using the door to the right of the entrance. Once in the children’s area you will be greeted by one of our childcare professionals. They will help you register your child (first time) and direct you to the correct room for drop off and pick up.

Sunday school is offered for all ages at 9:45.
